PUPIL TERMS & CONDITIONS

Instructors

Your instructor is a self employed franchisee of Bennett's Intensive Driving Ltd (BID). BID act as an agent for your instructor in receiving payment for your tuition whether made by bank transfer, cheque or cash. Where BID make bookings, provide information and documentation, they are acting as an agent on behalf of your instructor. The contract for driving tuition is solely between you and your instructor. All of our cars are currently manual transmission.

Tuition

Lessons will only be provided to students with a valid Provisional or Full UK driving licence or such licence as allows the student to drive legally within the UK.

Lessons

You must notify your instructor of any circumstance which may affect your entitlement to take or continue to take lessons immediately. Your instructor absolutely reserves the right to cancel any lesson where he believes you to be under the influence of alcohol or any substance which would inhibit your ability to drive. If this should occur, the full cost of the lesson will be charged.

Any pick up changes must be confirmed through the office. At least one full working day's notice is required (Mon-Fri) to change a pre-arranged pick up location.

If your instructor feels you are not ready for the test, in consultation with yourself we reserve the right to move back the test until we can get the recommended hours in. We will endeavour to get a new test booked in as soon as possible (test availability allowing).

Cancellations

If an intensive course is booked (10 or more hours in any one week), a minimum of 21 days notice is required. For any other course, a minimum of 7 days notice is required or the lessons will be charged at full rate. In addition please be aware that the DVSA have minimum cancellation times for both theory and practical tests (3 clear working days) which will cause the test fees to be lost by late cancellations.

Payments

BID do not accept Debit or Credit Card payments. Payment can be made by online banking to your instructor via the account number and sort code shown on your confirmation sheet. We can also take a Pay Pal payment but any such payment would have the Pay Pal charge added to the overall cost of the course.

A deposit is required to reserve your course. This deposit contributes to the cost of your course and is non-refundable. Please note that if an intensive course is booked (more than ten hours in any week), the full balance will be required 21 days before starting the course. If the course is less intensive than this, you can pay in instalments; instalments should be paid at least 7 days ahead of the lessons for the following week to allow BID to pay the instructor his fees. All balances must be received the week ahead of the practical test date or BID may need to cancel the test. If the test is cancelled at late notice, the DVSA test fee will be lost.

Price Changes

Your instructor reserves the right to change lesson prices.

Refund Policy

Where lessons have been prepaid and are not taken for any reason, a refund may be paid. This will only be considered when the correct notice has been given i.e. 7 days or 21 days as appropriate. This will at all times allow for an administration charge to cover work undertaken by BID on behalf of your instructor. Where hours are booked as part of a block booking (i.e. an intensive course) and are subsequently found not to be needed to achieve test standard, a refund will be made in full for those hours not taken.

Data Protection

Both BID and your instructor will take all reasonable steps to protect your information supplied to them in order to manage your driver training. Both BID and your instructor will do all they can to ensure your learning experience is conducted in a professional manner according to the DVSA guidelines.

Test Booking

We are not a test booking service, but will book tests for our pupils as a free service on the understanding that if despite our best efforts they are not ready for their test, or refuse to take the recommended hours to get them to test standard that test still belongs to the school will then be offered to another pupil and the test fee refunded.
